Mercedes Luevano
Mercedes Luevano is a purpose-driven entrepreneur with over 25 years of corporate experience spanning multiple industries. She has a heart for leadership and service and specializes in client relations, strategic planning, and process improvement. Her approach to teaching and mentorship is deeply rooted in the belief that iron sharpens iron, and she takes great pride in helping others recognize and execute their purpose. As a business leader and seasoned Real Estate agent, Mercedes seamlessly weaves together her skills to inspire growth, guiding teams and individuals to reach new heights.
Her genuine spirit encourages those she leads, and she finds joy in sharing knowledge, knowing that success is best achieved when built together. Tonya Smitherman
Tonya Smitherman is a distinguished professional in the real estate industry, currently serving as the 3rd Vice President of the Alabama Association of Real Estate Brokers and the 1st Vice President of the Birmingham Realtist Association. With a multifaceted career, she is an Educator, Certified Alabama Real Estate Instructor, and Associate Broker with eXp Realty. Tonya is also a seasoned Real Estate Investor and Entrepreneur, as well as a Government Contract Entrepreneur.
In addition to her leadership roles, Tonya is an active Board Director for the Birmingham Association of Realtors and the AREAA Greater Birmingham. She specializes in working with residential and commercial investors, leveraging her extensive expertise as an Investor Agent. Tonya is a managing partner at BATS & Associates School of Real Estate and BATS & Associates RE Team LLC, and she owns Ladybug Properties LLC, a real estate investing company.
Tonya's passion for community service is evident in her role as the Executive Director of the non-profit organization Alliance Community Development Corporation. She brings over 25 years of experience in financial investment banking, which she uses to help others through education and collaboration with customers, business associates, and students.
Her philosophy, "Each One Teach One," underscores her belief in the power of knowledge and action. Tonya is dedicated to empowering others by sharing her knowledge and expertise, fostering professional growth, and contributing to the community.
Kanada Simmons
Kanada Simmons has over 40 years of extensive experience in the business world, having learned the ropes from his entrepreneurial parents. His journey began in the 1980s with a small family-owned janitorial services company, which grew to manage over 100 buildings. Driven by a vision to offer more than just janitorial services, Kanada founded Cleaning Experts Inc., which later evolved into CEI Services, marking his significant expansion into the facility maintenance industry.
Under Kanada's leadership, CEI Services has grown to serve diverse industries, including municipal, industrial, manufacturing, state, and federal government sectors. His hands-on experience ranges from Ft. Parks, California, to Homestead Air Force Base in Florida, showcasing his nationwide dedication and expertise in facility management.
Kanada's success is attributed to the invaluable mentorship he received from prominent figures in the industry, including mentors from Arris Construction, Earthworks Inc., and several engineering firms, alongside the foundational guidance of his parents. His commitment to excellence and innovation has been instrumental in shaping CEI Services into a leading name in facility maintenance.
Beyond his professional achievements, Kanada is passionate about giving back to the community. He is dedicated to empowering the youth and fostering growth in others, ensuring that his legacy is not only one of business success but also of meaningful impact and support for future generations.
